I made these last year in PowerPoint.  This year we are considering having the students cut and paste online weather maps into a PowerPoint file each day.  They can then print out the PowerPoint as handouts, cut the squares out, put them in chronological order, and staple them to make a "flip book" which will then look like a cartoon of a moving system.
